Looks like I don’t have much luck nowadays. Yesterday I spilled cold icetea over my MacBook and my external Mac Pro keyboard. Well, ok – Apple replaces the external one (ahem!), but the MacBook repair costs would be 400-500€ regarding to the service provider. Hinted by Constantin to visit ifixit.com, I really found very good instructions to get to the keyboard (and it took me about 45mins).

So I bought distilled water and now the keyboard and the plastic frame which is mounted below the keyboard is taking a bath for a couple of hours. Hopefully it will work, if not, I had ruined a 1.100€ MacBook within a few seconds (it’s the 2008 Unibody Alu version).

For amusement – or shocking – here are 2 pics showing the keyboard in the water.

Press thumbs, guys!

Ciao
Dennis
